OK week three and still no sleep and have managed to put off running at the office at least one more time AAARRGGHH! My five year old is creeping into my bed every night with nightmares which wakes up the dog who whines and husband who is not pleasant when being woken from his beauty sleep. So what to do? Well I am trying the qi gong deep breathing exercises but still incredibly hard to shut down my mind and thought processes. The more sleep deprived I become, the more I can’t sleep. I think this might be what a drug addict might feel like. I am waiting for the next “napping” fix and all will be right with the world.

My shen is out of whack (my awake energy). If you read Chinese sources, they subscribe to the power nap as part of our natural ebb and flow of energy that needs to be replenished. The problem is that other then maybe Spain…”siestas” are just not part of the corporate norm. I am thinking to try and convince my boss that as a Chinese Medicine company it may be our duty to provide a napping room for employees to improve our productivity. I’ll let you know next week if I still have a job!!)
