Well I am sorry for not posting on my blog for the last two weeks but was sick as a dog last week. You know it is bad when you sleep until 4pm in the afternoon. Which now reminds me I need to start our I’m-Yunity® product as winter is sneaking up. There was some talk about if it would be protective during SARS and although our company did not study this formally there is definitely at least some anecdotal evidence and basic research to suggest it may be protective against the nasty viruses floating around. I think a big misconception by the general public is that they don’t realize that antibiotics treat bacterial related infections such as strep throat or staph infections and do not treat viruses (antiviral medications treat viruses) Guess what? Most colds are viral. If you don’t instantly get better on an antibiotic, then chances are you have a viral infection. As flu season is upon us, I am going to get my family a bottle and see how we do this cold and flu season since it seems like every other week my little darlings are complaining of a sore throat or runny nose.
On a completely different note, today our slim office porkchop (Queenie) and myself met two really lovely people from Purity Life Health Products in Canada. David Chapman is the founder and past president of this company and Feng Wang is their export manager. We had a very refreshing conversation today. I knew I would instantly like David when he said he doesn’t believe in alternative medicine but rather he believes in integrative medicine. They get it. Traditional or natural medicines fill the gaps that Western medicine doesn’t address. There is a place for both and they should not be mutually exclusive. The Asian culture does such a good job at blending the two. Traditional and natural medicines address those those vague complaints you have that are either totally over worked up or dismissed as nothing serious in Western medicine. I also love passionate people who are committed to providing quality products. The tricky part of traditional or natural medicines is finding a company you can trust and who is committed to quality. You can visit their website at www.puritylife.com.
You may be wondering where has all the exercise gone? (Yes, I have not forgotten it is the reason for this blog!) Well rest assured we did get our exercise escorting David and Feng to the HK MTR today!!)
